DIY Tulip Wrap Skirt

Materials Needed:
1.5 Yards of Silky Rayon
Coordinating Thread
Scissors
2 buttons
Sewing Machine

1. Take your waist measurement and multiple by 2 then add 16".  Open your fabric and measure along the width and desired length. Cut your fabric into the shape in step one with your waist measurement. (TIP: after cutting the width and length, I folded my fabric in half before cutting the shape to make sure each side would be the exact same) Hem the sides and bottom, then change your machine to the longest stitch and gather along the top to your waist measurement + 16".

2. Cut out your waistband (your waist measurment x 6").  Fold the edges down 1/2" then fold your waistband in half.

3. Pin your waistband to your skirt with RST. Sew.

4. Try your skirt on and mark where your buttons and button holes will be placed for a comfortable fit.  Hand sew your buttons in place.  Sew your button hole. **use your sewing machine manual for this step.  Each machine has different instructions for button holes.**
